Are there spending controls associated with the service?

With the TransferTo service you are able to load a prepaid amount from your UPside card onto a prepaid cell phone in 24 countries. The recipient prepaid cell phone can be yours or a third party's such as family and friends abroad. You just need to provide the prepaid cell phone number you wish to credit and select the credit amount. The cell phone account can be yours or a friend's as long as:

  • It's a prepaid cell phone account.
  • It's an account with one of participating carriers.

How do I make a refill?

You make a refill directly from the Cell Phone Refill window on your UPside online account at www.upsidecard.com. You will need the recipient's prepaid cell phone number, your cell phone number, and the amount you would like to send to the recipient (not more than your UPside card account balance).
When logged in, just provide the prepaid cell phone number you wish to credit and select the credit amount. The cell phone account can be yours or a friend's as long as:

  • It's a prepaid cell phone account.
  • It's an account with one of participating carriers.

How long does it take for a refill to appear?

The refill is does in real-time and should not take longer than a few seconds to appear on the recipient's prepaid phone.

How will the recipient know I've sent a refill?

The recipient will receive a text message informing him/her of the top-up. You can also use the message field to send a free short message to the recipient.
